The BLUE ANGEL is the only certification for a truly 100% recycled paper. The label certifies the following points:

- the paper is made from 100% post-consumer papers, of which 60% at least are from average or low quality papers;

- the exclusion of certain chemical products which are known as being dangerous for human beings or the environment: optical brightener free, bleaching without chlorine or without halogeneted bleaching agents, use of colouring agents containing no mercury, lead, cadmium, nor chrome 6.

Cartiere Cariolaro obtained in 1986 the Blue Angel label for their printing papers Polar, Editor 2 and E2000 all produced with 100% waste paper without the use of optical brighteners and chlorine.
