- 2006 was a very important year for our "forest friendly" paper . During the whole year, a lot of new writers had agreed to Greenpeace campaign "writers for the forests" and chose to print their books on ecological recycled paper produced by Cartiere Cariolaro. Some of them have also won important prizes. For example "Caos calmo" written by S. Veronesi and edited by Bompiani - winner of the Strega Prize - "Ti lascio il meglio di me" written by G. Marinelli - second at Campiello Prize - and "Capriole in salita" by P. Roveredo winner of the prize "Bruno Cavallini". Winning books not only respect the environmetal impact, but also respect pleaseures and preferences of critics and readers.

Also this year the Company agreed to this initiative, promoted by Comieco in association with Assocarta and Assografici, and opened the plants to the interested visitors. During these two days, about a hundred students of the intermediate school, visited the papermill and could see the transformation and the production of the recycled paper. A very important occasion to approach the environmental subject and to ncourage the recycling.

- FESTAMBIENTE is the national event of Legambiente, the biggest and widespread Italian Environmental Association, and it is one of the greatest European events dedicated to the ecological themes. The most innovative proposals in the environmental sector will be present in this large exhibition area. Ministries, Regions, Local Governments, Parks and private companies, including Cartiere Cariolaro SpA (present at Comieco's stand), they will show “Eco-Compatible” products and services, like for example the ecological papers produced respecting the environment and without the use of chlorine. If you are interested in our products and in receiving informative material about our Company, you can go from 4th to 15th August 2006 to the splendid scenery of the Maremma Park, at Legambiente Center located in Rispescia (GR).

Starting from the 5th August, together with Il Corriere della Sera, you can find a series of books dedicated to passionate travellers, demanding tourists and fantasy adventure lovers. Among the titles, we point out “Patagonia Express” by Luis Sepulveda and “In Asia” by Tiziano Terziani. All the 60 volumes are going to be printed on the recycled paper Editor Bulky produced by Cartiere Cariolaro SpA. The campaign launched by Greenpeace in order to promote the forest friendly paper is obtaining a big success, because as said by Sergio Baffoni, a responsible of Greenpeace, “books printed on recycled paper have the same quality than the others and readers are happier.

- Milan, 9-13 May 2006 GRAFITALIA - The 10th Exhibition of Machinery and Materials for the Graphic Arts, Publishing and Communication Industries has successfully just finished. More than 40.000 visitors (14% coming from outside of Italy) have been registered and a good part of them visited the stand of Cariolaro and could see the range of the 100% recycled printing papers produced and their uses (newspapers, magazines, books,...).
